The Water Cube, officially known as the Beijing National Aquatics Center, is an iconic sports facility in Beijing, China. It was designed by the architect Zaha Hadid and opened for the 2008 Summer Olympics. The design is characterized by its unique geometric structure and ETFE (Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene) skin that allows it to be translucent and energy-efficient. The Water Cube has since become a popular public swimming facility and a tourist attraction.
